At home with Burt Reynolds, circa 1971

In these December 1971 photos, Burt Reynolds was captured at home, relaxing in his backyard away from the set of "Dan August," the TV series he starred in at the time these were taken.

Was Burt looking for his own name in the book he was perusing, "The American Movies Reference Book"?

Didn't every 1970's Hollywood home have a wood paneled bar?

Ah velour, the 70's fabric of choice.

Zooming in, you can see the Foreign Press Award certificate on the wall for "Dan August." Ironically, the series only lasted a year. Below is the Certificate of Appreciation from the Antelope Valley American Indian League.

Wanna' see Burt's mailbox?

Burt & his Mercedes Benz:

Someone should tell him that you shouldn't smoke in bed.

Shortly after these were taken, Reynolds' popularity soared with the release of the classic movie, "Deliverance."

The "smoking in bed" pic is a hoot! He's even got his boots on in bed. Hilarious!
