Disneyland, July 28, 1960

These three young girls look a bit camera shy for their July 28, 1960 trip to Disneyland. Once you realize that these are the same girls who started the day off by seeing Scary Mickey, then I'm sure you'll understand the looks of apprehension in their faces.

Here's the family in Central Plaza, with a banner on the Omnibus in the background proclaiming the recently upgraded Nature's Wonderland attraction in Frontierland.

Look at that line! And no fast pass existed in 1960, so guests just had to wait, dagnabbit! This crowd is waiting for a raft to take them out to Tom Sawyer's Island, with the Chicken Plantation Restaurant just out of view on the left of the image.

Zooming in, you can see a little motor boat that doesn't quite seem to fit into the Frontierland theme! Two of Donald's relatives appear to be checking it out. Maybe they'll let him know.

The Omnibus banner is nice.

I always get a kick out of seeing something out of place at Disneyland, like the stray little motor boat being checked out by Donald's relatives or the telephone totem-pole power lines behind the Indian Village.

I miss the days before FASTPASS of just simply getting in line and waiting.
