A Selfie at Disneyland, 1967

When I first saw this October 1967 image, I wanted it because it was a vintage view of New Orleans Square at Disneyland that I didn't have. But when I looked closer, I saw an even better reason to acquire it: an old-school selfie! How cute! How many of today's selfie-obsessed generation would be willing to wait at least a week to see how that little snapshot turned out?

Sorry, but this is as close as I could get for a contemporary view in my collection:

I love the back area of New Orleans Square near the Mint Julep Bar and train station. It's one of those magical tucked away places that make Disneyland so special. Thanks, Dave.

A snapshot in time. Hard to believe that the couple we see here is nearly 50 years older today. But then again, so am I! KS

Agree with @K. Martinez. I also like seeing the bench up against the wall. Benches seem few and far between at the Park anymore. I get it that they can bottle neck a crowd and strollers... and there will never be a slow day at Disneyland... ever. BUT if our Disney friends would reopen a few restaurants, and replace older attractions with high capacity... well... maybe, just maybe... the benches will return.
