Ticket Prices Skyrocket!

This first image is from a semi-scratched faded batch of images from May 1960. Despite that, it's still a great image of the entrance area to the park. Not only can see you the turnstiles, but you can plainly see the admission prices for the park:

Flash forward 8 years later to January 1968, and just look at how the prices have SKYROCKETED! Can you believe a personal guided tour through Disneyland has gone up $2.50? Who in their right mind would pay a total of $6.50 for a guided tour of Disneyland. Just shocking. Absolutely shocking.

I'll just bet this group of rabble-rousers were protesting the prices and getting ready to take this poor Tour Guide as a hostage!

That is one 'nasty' looking group holding that poor lady hostage. While we may understand the cause and condone the anger at such price gouging; we must remain calm and not become violent. I mean jeez, not like it's oh what $20.00 to enter the park now is it.

Great post! I'll take a Deluxe 15 book, heck I'll take a ton of them!!!

If somehow you could purchase say one hundred (100) Deluxe 15 books in 1968 at 1968 prices the total would be $550. Each 1968 Complete book today will fetch approx $150 on eBay, so for your $550 investment (in 1968) you could get $15,500 today!

That last group is definitely the forerunners of Occupy Disneyland.
