Brother & Sister duo, 1962

Brothers and sisters. We can’t pick ’em, and many of them drive us crazy. But they’re still family, so you just have to grin and bear it. And usually, as you grow older, the relationship improves and softens. But as little kids...forget it! Here’s one brother and sister duo that was photographed by mom and dad during a 1962 trip to Disneyland. In shot #1, they are having fun in the Gurrmobile on West Center Street near the Flower Market & Carnation Ice Cream Parlour.

In shot #2, sister gets the spotlight admidst a sea of artificial flowers.

This one is the priceless one of the bunch; we’ve all been there before. Mom (or dad) tells us to hold the other one’s hand, even with desperate pleas of, “Awwwwww....do we have to?!?” The girl has all the makings of a Disneyland Tour Guide or Ambassador; she knows how to mask and smile. The boy...well, he’s just destined for trouble.

Things are a little more pleasant in this one, as they are allowed a little space between each other, posing in front of the Castle.

If you squint a little, you can see the duo aboard the Chicken of the Sea Pirate Ship, dutifully posing for yet another one.

Priceless shot #2 is this last one, with the little tots practically overpowered by the gigantic feathers of their souvenir hats, sitting near Skull Rock.

Boy, nobody's commenting on the blogs today! Love that last shot with the hat and gigantic feather. Those are so silly, and yet you see a lot of 'em in old photos... people just get into the spirit of fun when they're at Disneyland!
