Tomorrowland Trio

Here are some undated 1970’s Tomorrowland photos. Shot #1 is of the Flight to the Moon attraction building; this particular attraction lasted from 1967 (New Tomorrowland debut) until 1975, when it was changed to Mission to Mars; Moon travel was already somewhat passé by the 1970’s and no longer had the excitement it had back in 1955. As part of my adjustment to stroller therapy, I am allowing this photo to be posted, which contains 4 of the nasty specimens. And of course, let's not forget to notice the PeopleMover, "zooming" by overhead. Those of you in the mood to spend money, here’s an interior of a Tomorrowland shop; detail of merchandise included:

Last one for today is the Tomorrowland stage, with plenty of Rolly Crump styling going on:

Those shop interiors are wonderful, they sure bring back a lot of memories! I think I even remember seeing one of those cheesy fiber-optic lights for the first time at Disneyland, and thinking it was the coolest thing ever.

I love the shot of Flight to the Moon, too. But what is that thing in the planter and why is there que ropes around it?

Great shots of the Charachter Shop interior...The Peoplemover used to glide along in the opening above the counters...It was a neat thing to behold and a testament to how well the 1967 Tomorrowland was put together...So much was 'on the move'.
