Chicken of the Sea Pirate Ship

Yesterday, after checking out Tim’s incredible (but sad) post on the removal of the Chicken of the Sea Pirate ship, I thought I’d post these 2 undated shots from approximately 1956/57. The first one is probably my best shot of the logo on the back of the ship. Eventually, the name was changed to Captain Hook’s Pirate Ship Restaurant, but the lady still remained.

See more vintage Chicken of the Sea photos at my website.

Those pictures that Tim posted were some of the saddest I have ever seen. Thanks for posting these cool pix. It makes for a better day. Thanks DAve.

“Those were the days” The back (or stern) looks like a real ship, an amazing amount of detail! I can’t believe all those windows ended up in that big pile of junk…

Thanks for the look back and getting some happier photos of the grand “Chicken of the Sea”, she looks sea worthly to me.

New Fantasyland was beautiful compared to the Old when it opened - the loss of the Pirate Ship and Skull Rock, not so much.

It's been almost 50 years ago, but I remember getting sick after eating a Tuna Boat Salad and spending the next two hours in the infirmary.
