This 1950’s shot of the Adventureland Bazaar is amazing because more than 50’s years later, the façade is very much the same—including the cool typeface used in the name of the shop (which only bears a few minor changes)! Other than the addition of a few lights on the exterior, this building still exudes the same market-in-Casablanca-type feel; a great example of set design at its best!

This is one of those spots that's like home base for me, it never changes, I hope they keep it that way! Thanks for the neat post.
WOW! Also it's nice to see Adventureland NOT so crowded!
I know I'm supposed to be looking at the buildings but I always like to see your old photos at their largest to get a look at the clothing. The guys in the 50's and 60's looked so cool and even the homeliest of the women looked infinitely better than the sweat pant UGG boot wearing trolls of today.
Maybe the forced perspective is working extra well here, but it sure looks like the upstairs areas are being used for offices or break rooms or somethin'.
Well I can't say what it's being used for today. But in my day (early-mid 70s), I could use the staircase, enter through the gate up to the open area above the Bazaar and enjoy the view while I was waiting for my boat to arrive to re-start my Jungle Cruise rotation (got a 2 cycle break -- 3 cycles for lunch). The room off to the side had a table and some chairs for employee use. It was little used as we preferred to be backstage in the Adventure/Frontierland break area. But this was a nice change of pace if you just wanted some quiet time.
Nice pictures of one of my favorite parts of Disneyland.
Major, I'm pretty sure that those second floor rooms are occupied by backstage spaces, see anonymous comment.
Thank you, dave
