Disneyland, August 1974: The PeopleMover

The PeopleMover was one of the “New” Tomorrowland attractions that Walt was most proud of. It was also to be an integral part of EPCOT serving as the main mode of transportation. These photos all feature the now-defunct continuously moving vehicles. Our polka-dot gal seems just fine being ambulatory. You’ll see more of her at a later date.

Here’s a Disney publicity shot of the PeopleMover from October 1971:

For Vintage Disneyland Tickets, here are a few cat shots from the other day; location is approximately where Cascade Peak used to majestically watch over the Rivers of America:

Loooooove those pix from 1974 Tomorrowland. Older slides are cool, but the 70's was MY Disneyland. The Peoplemover, Rocket Jets, and yes, the clothing. Awesome!

I've heard about the cats roaming Disneyland, but this is the first time I've seen a photo. Do you know if they are cared for at all, or do they live off of baby ducks and dropped hot dogs?

Purrrrrfect post Dave! That kitty is so cute! And this is way across the river from where I spotted the calico one, they sure get around! "Bring back the People Mover" there, I said it....

Hey Major, ditto the "MY Disneyland" (lets share). Disneyland actually has little "cat houses" where they feed the cats. They are just two steps north of the Hungry Bear lower eating area rear stairs. You can see them from the train too! I took a picture, its not the greatest pic, I'll updated my blog with it in a few minutes.!

THANKS DAVE!!!!!!

Good news, Peoplemovers fans! They live on at Disney World (Magic Kingdom, not Epcot). I just rode them a few months ago. Now, if only Mr. Toad was still there...
