Shirley Temple Black & Disney

It’s only natural that the child that helped bring this country out of the Depression during the 1930’s and was a symbol of wholesome family entertainment (such as "Heidi" and "The Little Colonel") would be linked to Walt Disney. First shot is Shirley Temple Black with her daughter Linda Susan Agar on the left and son Charles Alden Black, Jr. on the right enjoying a ride on Dumbo at Disneyland, February 1956. One year later in April 1957 Shirley would return to the park to help christen the new Sleeping Beauty walk-through inside the Castle. Here’s to hoping she is invited back to do the honors again when the Diorama is restored. Shot #2 shows Shirley at the 1961 Oscars with Disney’s own darling, Annette Funicello. Shirley was presenting a statuette to Hayley Mills, and Annette accepted the miniature on Hayley's behalf.

Who's cuter?!?! Shirley was quite the beauty when she was a young woman. But I don't know, Annette is hard to top!

Oh, thank you for this post. They are two of my all-time favorite women. Both beautiful, fabulous and ultra-talented!
