An Ace in the Desert

This mid-century gem in the desert was once a Westward Ho with a Denny’s. Now it’s the Ace Hotel & Swim Club. The vibe is very fun and hip, and a bit more youthful than what you typically find in Palm Springs.



The pool area is normally rocking…but of course I shot it early in the morning before the sun-worshippers arrived.



My room had a wooden gate…



with a good-sized enclosed private patio:

Yup…turntables are back in vogue:



The restaurant has been redone and is now called King's Highway:



A great place for a date shake!
