Disneyland 22nd Anniversary: July 17, 1977, Pt. 1

Time for a little polyester madness with a July 1977 post. These photos were taken on the 22nd Anniversary of Disneyland’s Opening Day. Naturally, to promote “The Rescuers” (1977), there are characters from the movie in the park to greet the young ones!

In the background of these shots with Mickey, you can see the Town Square Café.

See more Disneyland Town Square photos on my regular my main website.

Is it just me, or is Mickey taller now...Strange...

I suppose they don't use that mouse from the Rescuers anymore as a costumed character; everyone would think he's Ratatouille.

Last pic; I had those red sunglass and a very similar shirt, lets hope no photos exist! Nice set, thanks for sharing.

Gee, I love the seventies. I also love the fact that Mickey is holding the hands of the adults (or they are holding his hands.) Either way....Disneyland is for children AND adults alike!!!

I remember seeing the Rescuers mice, Bernard and Bianca hanging around even in the eighties. Wouldn't mind seeing them again...or the Robin Hood characters!

Glad to see this is only part one, Dave. I'm looking forward to more!

It's always fun to see rare characters like Bernard from "The Rescuers."

Am I imagining things, or was Donald Duck usually the shortest costume character (and if he was, why was that)?
