Welcome to Calico: The Finale!

I pretty much covered the entire area of Calico Ghost Town on my recent trip, but there are still a number of things that I’d love to explore deeper when/if I return. Thanks to the pandemic, many of the attractions were closed, so I had to be satisfied with a peak at the exterior. Here are the things I’d love to take a closer look at: The mine itself:

DEFINITELY take a ride on the Calico & Odessa Railroad:

The Bottle House:

The Restaurant (it had me at “Fried Chicken”):

Lane House and Museum:

The Saloon (this was shot through the door):

Any other suggestions from those more experienced Calico visitors? See more Calico Ghost Town photos at my main website.

Thank you for all the interior shots, I'm blown away at how interesting this all is. I'd heard about it but never been, now I want to go. That train looks like what a Knott's Mine Train would be like if they added coverings to it. Paint not considered, it's in great shape.

The railroad is worth while, as is the mine tour. The bottle house was a dog accessory store (leashes, beds, toys, biscuits, etc.) when I was there last (2013). Interesting to see out.

I couldn't go in the bar (traveling with Boy Scouts). Most of the shops are not what they were years ago, mostly Made in China junk.

Many of the buildings are reconstructions and not at all original. If you look closely it is fairly easy to tell.

Thanks for the post, Dave. Glad you enjoyed Calico.

JG - There were a number of "retail" shops open so I was able to see those...and promptly left. Next visit, def the railroad and mine!
