Gems from May 1958, Pt. 7

These are the last images from this particular May 1958 series, and all are in Fantasyland. First one up is of the Chicken of the Sea Pirate Ship Restaurant, in the location that is currently the home of Dumbo’s Flying Elephants. Dumbo is obviously a kiddie favorite, but I’d happily lose Dumbo to get this home-of-the-tunaboat back in the park.

In this juicy close-up of a teacup, you can also see the Peter Pan’s Flight attraction line queue in the background.

Welcome to Storybook Land; Monstro’s mouth is wide-open in welcome to all the guests who choose to brave the canal boats on a journey through the miniature attraction that is home to the homes (but not the characters themselves) of many beloved Disney animated films.

Nice to see the little tower still has a place in the park:

Towering above Storybook Land is Cinderella’s Castle, bearing little resemblance to its namesake in Orlando.

VERY nice pics! I especially like that a time traveler was caught - notice the lady in the first photo. She looks like she is texting, LOL!

I would love to have the Pirate Ship back, but Dumbo is so "Disneyland", if you know what I mean; even though I don't ride it, I don't want it to go away.

They can just move Dumbo and put Capt. Hook's ship and Skull Rock back where they belong! Put Dumbo behind Storybook Land...there's room!
