Scholarly Saturdays: Encyclopaedia Britannica & Fantasyland, Pt. 5

Hope you like the Dumbo Fantasyland attraction, because today's exciting finish to this portion of the series is all about just that! Here's an aerial view to give you an idea of what Bobbie and Susie are about to experience. Susie appears a little unsure about this one; who is going to be in charge of the controls?

Susie simulates flight by extending her arms over the edge:

Susie is happy knowing that Bobby is out of camera range and that this photo will be all about her:

Back to reality? Well, that's what the Encyclopaedia Britannica says.

Let's repeat what we learned, boys and girls:

Back to present day, here are a few nighttime shots of Fantasyland from the recent D23 event. Appropriately, the first few show the lights and water feature at the base of the Dumbo attraction:

Monstro of Storybook Land:

Even small world looks pretty at night...even better when you can’t hear the song! I love how the original attraction poster design has been used for this sponsorship sign.

Snow White’s Wishing Well area; one of the most beautiful and peaceful spots in the park:

A a little “urp” to end the post:

See more Encyclopaedia Britannica photos at my regular website.

What a wonderful capture of Monstro. Thanks for that.

I think I read that the statues at the wishing well are copies of the originals. Maybe I read it on this blog?

Major - That could be true, but not something I am aware of or wrote about here. However, someone may have left a comment to that nature.

Beautiful shots of the park as always, Dave!

Tokyo DL has identical copies of the Snow White statues, so maybe DL's were replaced with copies at some point and the originals were stuck away somewhere. Would being outdoors eventually have an adverse effect on marble?
