Bungalow 1 and Happy Birthday Marilyn!

After a delicious lunch and margaritas at The Pink Taco next door, we all went back to the Chateau Marmont and checked into Bungalow #1. It was just as beautiful as I'd remember it from my 2002 visit; actually, it was even better. The decor had been updated and refreshed. It was absolutely beautiful.

The kitchen:

One of the three bedrooms:

The hallway leading up to the dining room:

The sun porch which opens out to the hotel's pool; the perfect place for my birthday dinner!

As you can see, Christy and Marlene were excited about staying here.

Dinner was fantastic; LOVE the Marmont's Spaghetti Bolognese.

The next morning, Christy had to catch an early flight back to Indiana. Business waits for no one.

The rest of us did a recap of the previous night's events at breakfast in the Chateau's living room. Note Willis doing a photo-bomb.

He had a great time, but Willis was ready to head home.

And that is the rest of the story. In other news, today is the 88th Anniversary of Marilyn Monroe's birthday. Forever young because of her movies and photos, it is hard to imagine her being in her 80's. Here are a few of my favorite Marilyn paintings that I have done over the years.

Not a typical Marilyn image, I loved the introspective look on Marilyn's face and had to put it on canvas.

Happy Birthday Marilyn - your talent still delights.

The bungalow at the Chateau Marmont looks really beautiful. Love the first interior shot as well as the kitchen shot. I really do prefer to stay at older establishments if they are kept well. This place looks 5-star. It's always hard to say goodbye to good friends. Especially if they travel across the country to see you for your birthday. As for Willis, he can photo-bomb any day.

Your series with Christy was nice. Your architectural and interior shots are always a joy to look at. Thanks, Dave.
