August 1958: Meet the Sherriff
Just a short one today, starting off with a shot of the Frontierland Sherriff and a young boy off to the left practicing his best rope trick. Anybody able to identify the Sheriff? Doesn't appear to be Eddie Adamek.
A nice shot of the Columbia bringing it on home during her first year on the Rivers of America:
And the Mighty Mark Twain at dockside, waiting to undertake yet another voyage around Tom Sawyer Island.
See more vintage and current Frontierland photos at my website.

That first photo is really neat! I wonder if this is at the "Zocolo" area rather than the Blacksmith's/Sheriff's? I'm not really sure, but those thatched shades have got me a bit lost. That MUST be one of those pre-made lassos that we've heard about.
Could it just be Sheriff Lucky? (I think the last name is Fauntz, but he's always called Marshall Lucky or Sheriff Lucky.) Compare to Card #0048 in The Nickel Tour. (I'd do it, but my copies are on the other side of the country.)
Jason - Looks like a match - thanks!
That top photo is great, Dave!
It looks like the little sign above the kid has a price for those whips hanging there next to it. Any way you can get a close up on it? Would love to know the complete text.
The sheriff is not Lucky Fauntz. Lucky is my uncle and that's not him.
Hi Leslie - do you have any photos of your Uncle at Disneyland?
My Dad says the guy in the photo looks like Wally Boag, who worked in the Golden Horseshoe, but he doesn't know why he was dressed as the Sheriff. (I'm not sure of his name spelling)
I think I've seen some pictures of my uncle, I'll look when I get a chance.
Leslie - It's definitely not Wally Boag.
