Disneyland October 1955, Pt. 1

Time for a series with an early view of Disneyland, which was only about 4 months old at the time that these photos were snapped. The castle was the first thing the photographer snapped this day; it really was an awe-inspiring thing!

Shots of the teacups are fairly commonplace, but I love this one for the look at the early signage for the Fantasyland Theater:

There are certain Fantasyland views that I never get tired of, like that great Teacups photo (with the Mickey Mouse Theater), and even the Dumbo!

I like the Mickey Mouse Theater shield/signage with the strip of film and projector painted on it!

The castle has some great composition going for it.

Also, lots of painting details on Dumbo that got changed. The step up ring has been painted to resemble those risers that lions and tigers sit on while doing their act... also notice that the tip of Dumbo's trunk is either red, or he's wearing lipstick there.

Either way, I'm glad that's gone.
