Scholarly Saturdays: Encyclopaedia Britannica & Fantasyland, Pt. 3

Get ready for a little "urp" time as Bobby and Susie twirl around in the teacups, shown in their original location near the Carrousel. In photo #2, she is silently warning Bobby about what will happen if he tries to go too fast.

Right about where the small world queue is today, we can see the Fantasyland Autopia with the Disneyland Railroad Cattle Cars chugging along in the background.

Fortunately, Bobby passes the height requirement with flying colors!

Susie is nervous about her hairdo on the Junior Autopia; maybe she should have done another layer of hairspray!

11 miles an hour...just like the real Los Angeles freeways in traffic!

See more Encyclopaedia Britannica photos at my regular website.

Love those fantastic photos of the Junior Autopia; I had posted them from a black and white film strip, but color is better!

They were right about one thing.. the design of that car STILL hasn't gone out of style!

Yep Bobby's all growed up and can take Susie for a drive. I get the feeling Susie's immaculate hairdo will hold firmly in place and that she's happier to be motored around than sloshed around in a teacup - Bobby looks like the Darin type. ;D

No offense Darrin and yup it still looks good. Better than a lot of the "style" we've been stuck on for the last 15 years or so and these are just play cars. :)
