Trip to Disneyland June 1963 Series

This series will take you through the park along with this family who trekked across the country in June 1963 to see what Disneyland was all about. Today, you will accompany them on their trip down Main Street. Being a big collector of old Disneyland slides and photos, I love finding these batches, but it also makes me sad to think that someone went to a heck of a lot of trouble to put together a scrapbook or slideshow, and 40 years later, they are up on ebay because nobody is left in the family or the ones remaining see no personal value to them. At least they are getting new appreciation here. Enjoy!

I can't tell you how often I've viewed slides of happy families with small kids (not just Disneyland), and figure that it's one of those now-grown kids who has decided to get rid of these family memories. You can't keep everything, but I'd think that these would hold some sentimental value.

Agreed! But, that is what makes your sites so cool. Families find new homes and imagine the amount of visitors who now see their vacation slides! That would blow their minds wouldn't it.

I love the cat shirt the little girl is wearing, very cool. I think a lot of the stuff comes from unclaimed storage, where someone doesn't pay or forgets that they have a storage unit.

That last shot looks like it could have been a real town somewhere in the US. So peaceful and quaint looking. Adorable!
