A Day At The Park Circa 1958: The Conclusion!

Unfortunately, it's not a very stunning conclusion! A delightfully dark and dusky shot of the Indian Village, featuring the back-side of guests (almost as rare as the back side of water).

This particular shot baffles me. Sequentially, it was taken before the Indian Village shot and before the other two Jungle Cruise shots in the batch. It is also a section of The Jungle Cruise that I do not recognize. It's either not Disneyland or the guest took two trips on the Cruise during this particular visit. The things that keep me up at night; it's frightening.

These two JC shots are much more recognizable, but definitely no more impressive! Here is the ancient shrine; I wonder how many boys attempted to leave their JC boat to get a little treasure for themselves?

The last one from this batch (I promise!) shows one of the Bull Elephants:

Dave,
That shot is rather interesting. Could that be part of the 'ditch' which at that time (?) ran from the JC to the Rivers of America. I think but I'm not sure it ran past the restaurant and also was the loading/unloading area for a short period for the canoes and keel boats. It does look narrow and that rope bridge seems out of place as well. Not sure. Putting 'gators' there to guard the way is very clever.

The gator shot is quite a mystery. But maybe Thufer is on to something.

I think Thufer's right, but the canal is before my memories of the park.

A great series of pics Dave. As always, very much appreciated.

Very enjoyable series Dave.

I like the way the elephant was caught in the last pic, the eye and posture. :)

Thufer - your guess is way better than mine. I'm waiting for Progressland to chime in...my guess is that he's stumped, too, otherwise he would have commented.

Now you're going to keep me up at night too, wondering about the crocodile pic. No idea where that was located, but pretty sure it's not there anymore...

I vote with Thufer until hearing otherwise.

@Chiana, The elephant is wonderful.

Thank you.
