The azaleas in the spring are a great reason to visit Savannah; the weather is not quite miserable (humid) yet, and the white and pink azaleas add a beautiful splash of color to this historic city. Just on the outskirts of the historic district, be sure to find your way to Bonaventure Cemetery. The oaks & spanish moss are ethereal; would love to visit this spot at night. However, don’t go there looking for The Bird Girl from the cover of “The Book;” she now resides in the Telfair Museum, safely hidden away from pawing tourists with no respect for the dead.

On my last visit, I was fortunate enough to be there at the same time a number of antique cars were passing through. What a time warp! Loved it.
