Here are 2 early but undated views of Casey Jr., chugging along the track over what appears to be somewhat unstable wood supports! I would imagine from the lack of grass, these were taken before the Canal Boats of the World became Storybook Land.

Wow those are nice shots of Casey prior to Storybook. I always wondered what people thought of just going around and looking at grass and dirt. It must have been amazing for someone who went in 1955 to see the transformation in 1956. I can see them saying to their friends- You don't want to go on that ride it is just a bunch of dirt.
I also wonder what the narrator aboard your boat said when there was nothing to look at! "If you look to your left, you'll see some dirt. Coming up to your right...more dirt! Raise your hand if you remember the dirt in the Three Little Pigs?"
Wow! What amazing pictures! I have NEVER seen Casey Jr. on wooden supports before. The first time I went to Disneyland was May 30, 1956, and I think Storybookland had just opened,and there certainly were no wooden supports. Incredible.
