Here’s the Jungle Cruise’s Nile Princess on the 2nd Day of opening. The skipper looks bored out of his goard, and it is rare not to see the dock swarming with people.

Is that a pink striped shirt the captain is wearing?
He should go "Tally me banana, daylight come and me wanna go home!" HA
Bored?! Heck no!! That man is scared to death!!!! If this is his 2nd day he still doesn't have his spiel memorized and he is replaying every ounce of that river mentally and trying to remember… is that a lion or a tiger and how should I know the difference?
Thanks Dave! This is a wonderful photo rich with detail. Check out the megaphone on the bow. They didn’t have microphones when the ride first opened. There is a flag flying over the bow too. It is my understanding that each boat displayed a flag from the river’s source country. Being that there are two sources that form the Nile, I don’t know what flag that is. It appears to be green field with Islamic moon and star symbolism. Any flag historians know where this one is from in 1955? They moved the place for the flags to the back of the boat but when I worked there they were never flown. It also appears to be an old brass hand-pump fire extinguisher in front of the instrument panel on the bow. Finally, I also noticed one or two American flags flying by the palm trees in the background there. What a great photo!
