ANOTHER 1956 Series, Pt. 2

We couldn’t take that newfangled Horseless Carriage up Main Street; the driver actually talked to people who smoked. So, we went with the conventional Chemical Wagon and were dropped off at Central Plaza. I have included detail shots of the entrance to the Circus Tent and the sign promoting Professor Keller’s Kitties. By this point, the Mickey Mouse Club had already “left the tent.”

No trip would be complete without a Castle shot:

Our first land today is Adventureland, and this shot shows you the ALand side of the Pavillion.

Watch out for that Rhino! He could charge your Jungle Cruise boat at any time!

Hey all you "Saludos Amigos/Three Caballeros" fans; click here for a contest to win a FREE copy of the upcoming Disney DVD! There is only one left, so enter fast!

And that is all for today; come back tomorrow for more 1956 goodies. To see more vintage & current Disneyland photos, visit my website.

Fantastic rare shots! I've never seen the Horse-Drawn Fire Wagon up in Main Street. And that signage for Keller and his cats. And who knew the Pavilion's Adventureland side was wheelchair accessible? :)

Dave, you are totally spoiling us, these are just amazing. The first shot of the Chemical Wagon reminds me of your painting back from October, by the way folks; visit "http://davelandweb.com/gallery/" Dave is an incredible artist.

Thanks for all the nice comments; George - The Pavillion Shot is taken from (approximately) the snack area by the Jungle Cruise, facing towards what is now Aladdin’s Oasis and the Tiki Room. The Tiki Room still had about 6-7 years to go until construction started. The other side of this building is the Plaza Pavillion on Central Plaza. If you look to the top left of this shot you can see white "gingerbread" that is part of the Main Street Plaza Pavillion decor.
