Disneyland December 1962, Pt. 1

I love going to the park, walking through the turnstiles, and seeing the train waiting at the station to take passengers on a Grand Circle Tour. Here we have Retlaw 1 looking bright and shiny in its 7th year of operation.

In shot #2, the family from this batch of slides does the obligatory pose in front of the Mickey Floral (which they are blocking from the shot!), with the way cool original attraction posters in the background.

Zooming in closer, it would appear that some repair work is being done to the roof of the station.

I love the plethora of choices available in vintage transportation on Main Street U.S.A. and have missed having them during the recent repaving project. In these December 1962 shots, they were in full swing...

and our family took advantage of it with a fine shot in front of the Horse-Drawn Streetcar at Town Square.

See more Disneyland Town Square photos at my main website.

Great photos!! I wish I had not taken those posters for granted - never took pictures of them because they were always there :-(

Boy oh boy, that first photo makes the day better all by itself. Bright colors, great shot of the train, and lots of beautiful posters!
