Downtown Disney Car Show, circa 2008

In June 2008, Downtown Disney had a display of vintage autos, including this little Red Corvette (did it belong to Prince?).



Notice the Black Book in the windshield; perhaps it was the one used on the cover.



A yellow Pontiac GTO:



The GTO was the one that popularized muscle cars back in the 1960s.



This Chevy Camaro was the Official Pace Car for the 1969 Indianapolis 500:







How appropriate to have “Tigger” at Downtown Disney.



When I saw Tigger, he was at the Plaza Inn:

Midway Mania Monday

As I continue to go through my website to update the code, I stumble upon more unposed gems, like this set of shots of the most recent time I rode Toy Story Midway Mania in DCA. Thank goodness this attraction fits into the Pixar theme, as I'd hate to lose one of the best reasons to visit DCA! Of course I am referring to the "new" Pixar overlay to Paradise Pixar Pier.

Sunset at the Mansion

Nothing like a good flu bug to help you get caught up on your website and make you realize you have photos from almost 2 years ago that haven't yet seen the light of day.



These sunset gems from the Haunted Mansion don't really need a whole lot of explanation.

Disneyland Resort Christmas

Disneyland is a magical place; few can argue that it is most magical during the holidays when all of the special lights and decor are trotted out from the mothballs. The tree in Town Square towers over all; and to think the Bandstand that was originally here was removed because it blocked the view of the Castle!

and while standing in line for Peter Pan, I got this one of the back of the Castle (which many know was originally supposed to be how the front looked!).



At night the lights go on and the Park is transformed once again. It almost makes the crowds bearable!



New Orleans Square is where I love to gravitate to.



Being able to experience the Court of Angels again is always a special treat. Our escort up to Club 33 danced down the stairs as if he was Gene Kelly!



He was gracious enough to take a shot of my friend Kevin and I before taking us up for our dinner.



As we entered the dining room, the Christmas Carolers were filling the room with their a capella harmonies.



They even took my request to sing "O Holy Night," and boy did it sound gorgeous!



A wreath hung over the controversial new window that is located where the fireplace once was.

The Grand Californian is another place at the Disneyland Resort that is a favorite spot to hang out at the holidays.

The Gingerbread House also appears to have been enlarged to gargantuan proportions!

Less Than Marvel-ous News

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror holds a very important place in Disney California Adventure history as its first real "A-List" attraction for guests of the Disneyland Resort. Previously, the entire DCA Park was a snoozer that generated very little (positive) buzz. Even though my stomach does not usually do well with drop rides, this is one that I made an exception for. The thematic detailing of the queue rivals that of Disneyland's Indiana Jones Adventure. With the recent announcement that the Tower would be completely redone as a Marvel attraction (no comment other than the title of the post), I decided to make today's post a virtual ride-through.

The lobby has always been my favorite part; so much to see, and so little time to observe it. I could happily saunter through this part of the queue for a few hours noticing all of the little details.



Where you would have checked-in if it were 1929.

Either way, you get to see Rod Serling on the television:

If you want to check-in to the Hollywood Tower Hotel one more time, you have until early 2017. The "new" Guardians of the Galaxy version will be opening Summer 2017.
