December 1963 - oh what a

The temporary bandstand was most likely the same one seen below near the Chicken Plantation Restaurant along the Rivers of America:

Here are some other shots of the Strawhatters from my collection:

March 1956:

Note the construction of a yet-to-be-completed Tom Sawyer Island:

September 1958:

No musical group would be complete without groupies. Here you go, from 1957!

That construction could be Cascade Peak. It's about the right place and size.
That open circle in the first shot has me intrigued. What do you suppose went there? ( Or would GO there? ) A medallion? A clock? Some logo?
@ Bryan-
That "open circle" is most-likely a loudspeaker location.
Thanks Dave for this great array of Strawhatters images.
Thank you Nanook. That makes sense. It's not like Disney ( even then ) to leave an open spot where some medallion fell out, etc. A speaker!
If I wait long enough, the right answer always pops up - thanks Nanook!!
Bryan - Cascade Peak "opened" in 1960; based on the date of the slide (1956) and the position, I think the construction was part of the Island.
By God you're right.
