Matterhorn Madness Monday

Yes…that's what it's called when you have your camera out and attempt to take photos on the Matterhorn as your bobsled goes at breakneck speed. Add in the herky-jerky (yes, that's a word) movement of the vehicle and the task is even more daunting of trying to take a decent photo that isn't blurred as all get out. It wasn't until I processed these photos from December 2015 that I realized I had actually captured the abominable snowman in the animation that introduces guests to his ferocity!

A view of the icy cavernous tunnels:

The wreckage. I believe the Monsters Inc. logo can be found here; I have yet to capture it, but I have seen a shot when this was being put together that shows it. One of these days.

The first Harold animatronic that you encounter:

Unfortunately, not decent shots of the 2nd Harold. All were blurry. I guess I need to ride this attraction again on my next visit!

More Matterhorn fun at my main website.

I like the second more obscured image of the abominable snowman and in the third image I see a bit of bobsled on the other track. Thanks, Dave.

Great photos Dave, despite the fact the attraction is herky-jerky.

I'm amazed at these pics, getting anything at all on this ride is really something.

I had my first ride on the latest version recently, it's noticeably slower and incredibly uncomfortable for a big, tall guy.

Still fun, though.

Thank you, Dave.

Nice shots Dave. I must say that I preferred/prefer the glowing ice crystals to the present wreckage. They were always a highlight for me ever since they first appeared when the Matterhorn was finally 'finished' back in 1978...

Great shots!

When they changed the bobsleds out a few years ago, I really think they ruined it. I used to love The Matterhorn, but now it's just painful.
