Sax at Disneyland

Disneyland Firehouse Five vintage photo at East Center Street, March 1981

The legendary Wayne King, Count Basie, Duke Ellington and Bill Elliot pose at Disneyland near Tomorrowland as they prepare to play in the Disneyland Big Band Festival, June 14, 1964. This photo is part of the UCLA Library Digital Archives.

For all you sax fans out there, here's a closeup of Bill's instrument. Wonder what the letters are in his pocket?

To see what has become of the Carnation Gardens area just makes me sad. There was such history there. KS

Hey Dave, the first 2 photos are reversed. The saxophone keys are backwards (my main hint) and the letters of the Richfield Oil sign as well...you might want to flip those :)
