Is 2008 considered vintage? If so, then my title is correct; otherwise, enjoy these views taken from the cone of the Monorail as it passed through the DCA of yore. Our July 2008 Monorail leaves the Tomorrowland station headed towards Downtown Disney.

Bye-bye Tomorrowland!

The first glimpse we get of DCA:

Remember those tile murals at the DCA entrance and the Golden Gate Bridge?

The approach of the Soarin’ Over California attraction:

And that is the last we see of DCA.

I always wondered why there wasn’t a stop at the Grand California. That seemed like a missed opportunity for guest convenience.

We’ve arrived! Downtown Disney is ahead of, back when it had a movie theater.

I hope you enjoyed your 2008 Monorail cone adventure.

It was always a fun ride in the cone...but it also was quite hot when stopped at the Hotel. Wonder if it was a cycling problem due to overall distance that prevented an additional station stop or just the sheer proximity of the two hotels to justify the expense. KS
I often wondered if the A/C stopped ( or subsided ) when the monorail was at a stop, especially in the cone.
KS & Bryan - My disappointment with the Monorail was that it was never extended outside of Disneyland into the dream that Walt had of it being an efficient mode of transportation. Also - the regular cabs of the Monorail don't have AC, do they? I thought the circulation was dependent on the windows being opened.
