Comin' At Ya, August 1957!

Take your Dramamine this morning, readers, as this trio of Genuine FauxD© images from August 1957 could get your stomach going. The Kalamazoo Handcar is on display at the Main Street Train Station, and the population reads 5 million. Below, I combined the left and right images to get a slightly wider view for you. Now you can see a portion of the Storybook Land attraction poster at right:



In Town Square, the Horse-Drawn Fire/Chemical Wagon is ready to take on a few guests for a trip to the Castle. Only 10¢!

Golden Girls, August 1956, Pt. 3

Our Golden Girls are a little pooped after vehicle shopping in Frontierland yesterday, so they are taking a rest in Adventureland, sitting on a bench in front of the restaurant that would eventually become the Tahitian Terrace. After some R&R and with a little coaxing, Rose & Blanche are ready to try the Jungle Cruise, albeit with a little trepidation. Looks like the Suwannee Lady is going to be their vehicle of choice for the afternoon.



For those of you who read yesterday’s post, here’s a followup shot of our gals, aboard the Mark Twain. Obviously, they couldn’t resist hopping on board The Floating Wedding Cake.

Jungle Cruise Medley

Now that I have positive proof that Amazon Belle is still alive and kicking, I am going to post a few from the Jungle Cruise today. The first pic is a little shack near the loading area of the ride from April 1958.



This shot shows the Suwannee Lady parked, while the skipper waits for the next functioning boat, April 1960.
