Disneyland Magic Kingdom Club Day, June 2, 1968

Begun in 1957, The Magic Kingdom Club was an early Annual Passport program that offered memberships to companies and their employees for free, giving them discounts and other perks. Today’s post centers around a little ginger girl who was “kissed by angels” as the saying goes. Her visit was on Magic Kingdom Club Day, June 2, 1968. Below, she poses with Alice in Wonderland in Town Square; the Mad Hatter photobombs them in the background:

Lisa Allison is the Special Guest (could they have made that paper any bigger?!?):

Here she enjoys a snack in Fantasyland with who I assume is her mother.

A hot dog was the snack of choice.

Elsewhere in the Park (Tomorrowland), The Devlin family was also enjoying Magic Kingdom Club perks on the exact same day:

I wonder if they crossed paths?

I just woke up from having blacked out on the floor for a few. I could have sworn the last thing I read was something about Disney offering something to companies and their employees for free. Now you are aware April 1st is still a couple of weeks off, right?

Thanks also to the Devlin family and Dave for posting. I had to go check out that whole gallery. That's so impressive that they kept all that ephemera to share at a later time. I'm only aware of what Disney did post-1980s for corporate passes but not much about before. Disney cancelled any discounted passes with my employer about 10 years ago, but you can still buy tickets at full price instead. What a bargain.

Such wonderful pictures and memories of that era. Yes indeed, we were a card carrying member of the Magic Kingdom Club, courtesy for free from Douglas and then McDonnell Douglas. Imagine a discounted program simply as a result of employment with a company. Both entities were sponsors of the Moon/Mars attraction and, until now, I had never thought if that was a requirement to qualify for the program. In addition, they also had private parties at the Park. KS

Yes, the Magic Kingdom Club - a 'sane' approach to a Disneyland annual passport and other perks. It's nice to see the Devlin family all together - and posing in front of the Tomorrowland fountains -with water-!
