Disneyland August 1958, Pt. 3

Welcome back to August 1958 at Disneyland, where our first image shows the entrance mural for the Fantasyland dark ride, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride. Below, how the mural had been updated when I shot this February 2007 image:

Back to 1958, we are now in the Mad Hatter shop in Fantasyland. I LOVE the whimsical tree in the center of the store!

Just in case you want to see some of the merchandise up close!

While we are in retail…a rare view of the Adventureland Bazaar and its offerings:

Anybody recognize this vintage piece of machinery? It must be 1958; can’t imagine anything in a Disneyland Resort gift shop costing only $1.43.

Here’s another rarity: Coca-Cola and Pepsi-Cola living in harmony over in Tomorrowland in this vending area. I wonder if this is where Laverne and Shirley got the idea for milk and Pepsi?

Only 15¢ for milk, chocolate or plain!

Where were these located? In the Space Bar area, as seen in this 1955 image:

Space Bar Vending

This 1955 image shows two guests checking out the flowers in Tomorrowland, with the Space Bar vending machines in the background. Nice to know that flowers will still exist in the future. Sandwiches, ice cream, soft drinks, pastry, and coffee are just the touch of a button away.

Here are some previously posted shots of the same area; this one from 1956 has the added bonus of the vintage attraction posters in the foreground:

Yup, people used these machines!

I think I would have preferred to order directly from the Space Bar itself!
