Next Stop: Tomorrowland!

The Tomorrowland Train Station at Disneyland is a Googie-styled depot built in 1958. The nearby Viewliner train attraction (1957-1958) had a similar station with the same type of beams with round holes.

How this area looked in my photo from May 2011:

Still Googie-looking, but with a touch of Jules Verne.

Futura Friday

Let’s hop into our December 1960 Autopia vehicle and cruise into the weekend! Unfortunately I can’t get a good sharp closeup of the dashboard sign from this image.

Note the Santa Fe sponsorship sign is still on the Tomorrowland Train Depot:

Here’s another December 1960 shot that I previously posted:

Cropping in closer, we get the real joy of this shot: focusing on the determined look of the little boy who is behind the wheel of a "car" for the very first time.

Have a great weekend!

Tomorrowland Train Station Rehabilitation

In May 1966, the Tomorrowland Train Depot was apparently going under the knife. These curious kids just don’t believe the sign. They want to explore for themselves.

Good thing Dad is here to take control of the little varmints!

Yup, the Train apparently required an "E" ticket!
