What better way to start a Monday than with an alliterative post on the mighty Mark Twain Riverboat at Disneyland? First up are some images from 1956.
Zooming in one would deduce that it seems like a slow day on the Rivers of America, specifically Tom Sawyer's Island.

Happy Monday! What a beautiful sight... the mighty Mark Twain. Love that third photo with the Native American waiting to grab a raft back to the main land. In the movie 40 Pounds of Trouble... they showed an "Indian Attack" on Fort Wilderness... I always wonder if they did that, or if that was artistic license just for filming. The sign inside the fort, leading the secret passage in case of "Indian Attack" was well in tact during the 1970's.
Finally, the 7th photo (closeup of where the Haunted Mansion would be located), shows a person leaning against the fence. I wonder if that is Tom Nabbe (who a lot of people think I'm related to... unfortunately, I'm not)? He played Tom Sawyer and that shirt, pants and hat seem vaguely familiar.
