The Tall Men at Grauman's
Built in 1927, Grauman's Chinese Theatre is a Hollywood Landmark. This September 1955 exterior photo shows the marquee advertising "The Tall Men," a Clark Gable and Jane Russell film.
Zooming in for a better look at the wall display:
This vintage 1954 shot shows Gable's footprints in the forecourt:
Although it's had a few name/ownership changes over the years, the theatre is still alive and kicking:

Hey, isn't that the movie "showing" when Lucy and Ethel go to Grauman's and steal John Wayne's footprints? Think so!
Now there's a genuine landmark location.
I visited that forecourt in the '70's, which seemed to be a low point era for so many cities.
The theater and the surrounding neighborhood were in really dingy condition. I don't think the theater had descended to showing porn, but it was definitely not an attractive place that made you want to go in.
Would be fun to go back and see it now, the area seems to have cleaned up a bit, like some formerly grubby downtowns in other cities.
Thank you, Dave.

Diane - That would be fantastic if you're right!
