A somewhat hidden art treasure in New York City can be found at the King Cole Bar located in the St. Regis Hotel.
I waited patiently for the bar to open so that I could get a front row seat.
While drinking a Bloody Mary, patrons can feast upon the site of this amazing mural by artist Maxfield Parrish.
I was in heaven.

Amazing, it looks like a jewel. Years ago I went to the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, and was excited because I knew they had a painting by Parrish, but it was rather small.
It's clear that the King has called for his fiddlers three and his pipe and bowl are on the way. Lovely work, Dave.
Beautiful job photographing the King Cole Bar. Wow! In addition to the wonderful Parrish mural, the first image of the revolving door entrance is beautiful. Thanks, Dave.
Amazing. This is going on the list for the NYC trip next spring.
Hard to believe the idiots at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco were going to sell the Parrish Pied Piper in the bar to finance a remodel into some kind of hipster joint.
Fortunately, the community protest made them back off, but it seems like these old beautiful things are never more than a real estate developer's lunch hour away from destruction.
