At first glance, this August 1963 shot would seem to be a throwaway, marred by the dark shadows that hide much of the scenery of Disneyland's Frontierland. Zooming in improves things, as an uncharacteristically graphic image of the end of a gunfight is revealed. The crowd seems to be enjoying it; we want some blood! The danger signs seem very appropriate.

Hardly any Disneyland photo is a throwaway in my book. There always seems to be something to see if one looks at it long enough.
Personally I think Frontierland is a lost land like Tomorrowland. It now seems to just be a place to pass through to get to another area. Bring back a Golden Horseshoe show with the can-can girls and comedy sketches and some cool gunfights. That works for me.
