The last of the Big 3 for new attractions at Disneyland in 1959 was the Submarine Voyage. At a cost of $80,000 each, you can understand why Walt’s fleet was a big deal. These 2 photos were taken only 10 days after the June 14, 1959 opening day ceremonies. Note the patriotic bunting.

I think it's interesting that the sub lagoon and the motor boat "river" are only separated by a low concrete wall... I wonder if there was ever any thought to making it a landscaped, hilly division?
