Disneyland, October ’59, Pt. 2



The view from Main Street’s Train Station really is spectacular; this photographer was smart enough to stand at an angle that would prevent the Castle from being blocked by the flagpole. Turning to the right, we see the Hills Brothers Coffee Garden & The Opera House, which was still not doing a heck of a lot just yet. I have included a closeup of the entrance area.





Rounding out the vintage portion of today’s post are two from West Center Street, featuring the Flower Market:

So strange to see that bright red locomotive... didn't Walt Disney want his Main Street to at least have a veneer of realism? This looks like an oversized toy. I am always amazed at the odd color choices that somebody is making these days.
