Early Fantasyland

A few more July 1955 Fantasyland shots for you; shot 1 shows the Carrousel (that’s 2 “r’s” at Disneyland!) and the Mickey Mouse Theater, which wasn't actually open until August. This was also the official Mickey Mouse Club Headquarters for Disneyland until 1963. View #2 shows Mr. Toad, which WAS open on opening day. Looks like the little tyke on the right is getting a stern talking to!

See more vintage and current Disneyland photos on my regular website.

I've never seen the Mickey Mouse Club Theater without signage before--neat! (Well, in color--it was in Dateline Disneyland.)

These early shots are really interesting to see. Is that a square open topped aluminum trash can in the second photo, by the pole?

Great stuff as always Dave. Thanks again.

Notice the orange Mickey Mouse flags up on the Mickey Mouse Club theater, the same as found on the Main Street station.

Fantastic as usual. I love the pose of the kid in the stroller, too.

As much as I love the older photos, I do believe that the 1983 Fantasyland re-do was worth it!

Great shots, as usual!

In that second photo, you could call it “Wiresland” look how many power lines are all over! Kinda kills the mood a little. I agree with Biblioadonis, the 1983 redo (if you haven’t seen it, check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Y-BYI6AS-Q) was well worth it! I do love the colors and history in these however, truly amazing - thanks Dave!

Your interactive Disneyland map is very cool. But I went directly to your website to view it. (I don't know if anyone else had this trouble) The link to the map, located on this blog, didn't work (for me at least).
Thanx for the pics.

Thanks Peter - the links have been fixed! One missing backslash is all it takes to make a mess.
