July 1959 at the Red Wagon Inn
A few more photos from the July 1959 batch that gave us the "Matterhorn Closed" post yesterday, all shot at the Red Wagon Inn (now the Plaza Inn Restaurant). Image #1 gives us a view from the restaurant looking towards Central Plaza.
How about those paper hats!
A front view of the Red Wagon Inn:
With the state flag poles in front and the restaurant in the background:
And back to the restaurant again:
Gotta' zoom in for the t-shirts and cat-eye sunglasses!

I like the boy's shirt with the Mark Twain and Columbia on it in the last image (zoom). Thanks, Dave.
Wow. It's hard to imagine the Red Wagon Inn without 100+ tables like it is in it's current incarnation. Look at all that open space!
This spot was a personal favorite for many years. We had a memorable meal here when I was young.
At that time, the restaurant had a violinist strolling among the tables. My Dad waved him over and tipped him a dollar to play "My Little Alice Blue Gown" for my Mother. The musician stood right at our table and played while M + D held hands. I was mortified, the whole restaurant was looking at us, and clapped when the music finished.
I had spaghetti. I think I will remember that all my life.
Had a meal here a few months back, just my ghosts and I.
Thanks Dave.

My daughter still calls it "the spaghetti house" because we always ate there through all it's changes.
