Scholarly Saturdays: Encyclopaedia Britannica & Tomorrowland, Pt. 3

Early Tomorrowland continues with some cool shots of the Exhibits & Attractions that guests could check out, such as The Art Corner:

Susie and Bobby are seen exiting Circarama; I’m sure they had a swell time!

I love the caption on this slide; what is the futuristic transportation of tomorrow that current Disneyland could innovate and incorporate today?

The Moonliner, back when it was a symbol of innovation and hope, not just an icon in front of a pizza parlor:

And the entrance to the actual attraction, Rocket to the Moon:

Last one for today shows Susie & Bobby getting ready to pick out a balloon after having experienced the Rocket to the Moon attraction:

Even more Tomorrowland fun next Saturday! See more Encyclopaedia Britannica photos at my website.

I wonder how long they used the Spaceman/Balloon vendor?

They only used the Spaceman/balloon vendor for a couple of seasons. They found that people wanted a photo with the spaceman more than they wanted balloons, the spacesuit was upgraded for photo ops, and was sponsored by Kaiser Aluminum.

ah ha that explains the silver theme. Well, it worked better so everyone won.

Yeah they should be offering the promise of future transportation but they can afford not to. It's all going to Cars Land anyway.

The mid-century modern angles are so neat. Pity they had relatively little to work with resource wise for Tomorrowland at the time. It's still neat and holds that whiff of positive promise for the present and future.
