Just a quickie for today. When I saw this May 1963 image, I was immediately on slobber mode because of the unique overhead view which was most likely captured from a Skyway bucket. All I can say about the photographer is that I am impressed by the steady hands! How about a closeup of the front?
Just to add a little value, here’s another May 1963 yellow Monorail shot:

That hat.
ReplyDelete@Fithrider - That hat... is so right! Right??!!
ReplyDeleteActually that is the back of the monorail. The front is on the other side where the dome/bubble is.
Great photos today Dave! I love that warm hue of yellow against that gray sky which always makes Disneyland a happy place... no matter the weather.
Always your pal,
Amazon Belle
Is that not a camera in the hands of the person inside the close up photo? Where are THOSE photos? I cant help to wonder if one of your Matterhorn photos came from that camera!

Thx Dave!
Now that I've seen the "Disneyland 1959" special in entirety ( Kodak commercials filmed in the park as well ) I'm looking at every camera to see if it's the one Ozzie and Harriet had. Agreed, wondering if that guy's pics surface anywhere.
ReplyDelete@Matthew Agreed, they don't make hats like that anymore. That hat, that yellow jacket and the yellow monorail... So much yellow in one picture. You don't see that anymore, everyone's wearing so much dark colors today.
Wow, the monorail was a walk-on that day.
ReplyDeleteSplendid pics, thank you, Dave.
