Disneyland Rarities, Pt. 1

Savor each one as I will be releasing them very slowly! First one from this batch shows East Center Street when the artists did sketches of the guests in genuine FauxD©. I’ve included a closeup so that you can get a good look at the portrait-in-progress:

Just think - a personalized masterpiece in 7 minutes for only $1.50. What a deal! See more Disneyland Main Street U.S.A. photos at my main website.

  1. I remember getting mine done and carrying that tube around all day.

  2. Imagine sitting there in the hot California sun thinking...four years of art school and here I am. Bummer.

  3. Great shot, super clear - wow! Neat old cash register in the background. 7 minutes, seem like an odd number, what if it takes 8?

The artist has the "Lillian" look with the hair and shades!

Thanks and looking forward to part two :-)

  4. Neat shots, I like all the details, like the pile of frames. I've seen photos with people carrying those striped tubes, now I know what was in them!

  5. Oooh! Oooh! I had one done in the 1970s and my mom took similar photos while I sat there. The photos are lost, unfortunately, but the portrait survives and is hanging at my son's house!

  6. Love those! I still have the double pastel portrait that my then-fiance and I had done the week we got engaged at Disneyland! It isn't in real good shape (rolled up since about 1976), but I still treasure it. They were very good likenesses, too.

  8. I love the paintings in the background of the various Disneyland attractions. I have seen a couple in a collection, but were not for sale. I keep hoping to find one of the paintings at a thrift shop.

  9. My friend Julie Inman did this work at Disneyland in the late 60's early 70's. She enjoyed it as she said it was quick and not too bad for the pay. Some of her art can be seen here:
