The first time I saw “Pee Wee’s Big Adventure,” I just didn’t get it. But, like a fine wine (or something like that), my appreciation increased with age. A lot had to do with watching his Saturday morning TV show; what a classic; a great show for kids that adults could sit back and do a little wink-wink-nudge-nudge with the double entendre humor. One of the few kid shows that really encouraged creativity. So, natch when I saw this Rolling Stone cover, I had to paint it.
