To all who celebrate, Happy Thanksgiving! And for those who don’t...we can all still be thankful for the many blessings we have. Today is a medley of vintage Disneyland Stagecoach photos, beginning with this 1950s classic. Digging the cast member name tag!
Oh to ride on the back of a Stagecoach at Disneyland without a seatbelt. This teen was able to do that back in 1956.
Two consecutive shots from August 1959. I don’t know if the cool composition with the paper hat in the foreground was intentional or not, but I’ll go ahead and give snaps to the photographer anyway.
Stagecoach Number 5; not to be confused with Chanel.

Amazing how we Baby Boomers survived without being encased in an OSHA approved safety bubble. Happy Thanksgiving Dave. KS
ReplyDeleteI guess if we want to get technical, No. 5 is a mud wagon rather than a stagecoach, but as the whole attraction was called the "Rainbow Mountain Stagecoach Ride," I'm not one to quibble, especially when these photos are so delightful. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThis Thanksgiving, I'm thankful for people like you, Dave, who continue to give out of their own precious time and treasure to share your collection of vintage images of Disneyland, Knott's, Shirley Temple ephemera, and other goodies with the rest of us. Even if we don't always leave comments that say so, we really appreciate it. I hope your Thanksgiving was filled with food, fun and family!
Thanks to both of you for being not only avid readers, but leaving the nicest comments. Much appreciated! Hope you both enjoyed your Thanksgiving celebrations!
ReplyDeleteA couple of days late... but great photos today. I love that last one as you can see the Mark Twain loading boom.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving. I am thankful for all the preservation work you do and your willingness to share it with us. Don't grow weary of well doing... and see you soon my friend.
Always your pal,
Matt McNabb
