Christmas at The Club Pt. 2

Now that we've enjoyed our beverages in the Jazz Lounge, it's time to mosey on over to Le (aka "the") Grand Salon Restaurant at Club 33. You just can't beat being greeted by these two. Are these pants too subtle for the season?

The vulture that once graced the Trophy Room is now out in the lobby:

The hallway leading to the Grand Salon:

This feller has been moved around a bit as well:

That face looks like someone who has eaten too many turkey legs at the Park.

An elegant place setting:

We were fortunate to have the Carolers follow us over:

Now we were able to get the inside view of this wreath that we had spotted outside from down below in New Orleans Square:

The peacock Christmas tree:

Festive garland:

The five course meal was delicious:

I also have to give kudos to the staff, who had definitely stepped up their game since my last visit to the Club in May.

No Daveland Club 33 post would be complete without a few shots of the Men's Room.

My subtle pants photobombed this one:

It was a beautiful evening, and I felt so fortunate to have been able to experience it during the Christmas season.

  1. What a wonderful photo of you with Mickey and Minnie. Beautiful colors! The pants look good on you because you have a sense of style that works. I couldn't pull it off.

I can't stomach the turkey legs ever since while waiting in line for an attraction I could smell them in an enclosed area. The feller's my expression matches mine having been unable to escape the stench of the turkey legs in the enclosed queue.

I'm a fan of place settings and the one pictured in your post today looks beautiful. Your photos are top notch as usual. Thanks, Dave!

  2. It seems like your feelings toward the revamped club have warmed up a bit. Which is nice, you should enjoy yourself! Soon most people will have forgotten what it used to be like and it will almost seem like it has always been the way it is.

  3. Dave, I just had a great idea. Why not sell your car/house so you'll have enough $$$ to take some 2015/2016 AERIAL photos of Disneyland? Both parks, each land, maybe Star Wars Land construction, enough to see the dark ride buildings POTS, HM, POOH, iasw, RogerRabbit,, and so forth. I'd make a small contribution myself. Of course, you'd have to try over several days in the hopes of getting at least one with no haze … best to you at Christmas! Nick

BTW I just uploaded DisPhys E Invisible Mirrors to YouTube, covering Pepper's Ghosts esp. Haunted Mansion Ballroom. I hope you like it.

  4. Nick - The sad thing is for what I have spent on acquiring my vintage images I probably could have bought another car or house!
