Vintage Disneyland fans fondly recall Cascade Peak, the Frontierland water feature that was located near the dock of the Mark Twain. These June 1961 images are a beautiful reminder of just how cool Cascade Peak was.
This last one is my fave, showing the Nature's Wonderland Tunnel with just a bit of the waterfalls visible.

ReplyDeleteIt's to bad they removed Cascade Peak. It was so beautiful to look at.
ReplyDeleteI like the sprinkling of flowers at the base of Cascade Peak in the 3rd pic, but the last pic is just awesome. The tunnel before the trestle into Bear Country. I love it!
ReplyDeleteYeah, that last shot actually sent a chill (the good kind)up my spine. Right there, that's pure Disneyland magic, even without any train in sight.
